Phil’s interviewer insists that due to the dark cluster’s particular dimensional characteristics a clone is needed in such a case that Phil doesn’t complete his contract. He tells his interviewer that he has a clone, and then immediately orders one to be created. While the nearest clone manufacturer isn’t in the local system, one is near enough to begin the process.
With his new clone’s registration information, Phil is hired for an upcoming assignment. He learns later that the workers on brane puncturing stations in the dark cluster could be less than welcoming and this worries him. Ultimately, he decides to give the job a go, as if anything happens to him, his clone will be able to carry on his dream of a full circuit of the galaxy as a cleaner of supersymetrical sludge. He is, after all, fairly relaxed for a consentient.
